At Clever Devices, we supply technology to transit agencies across North America, South America, and Europe. From the largest public transport agency in the United States to small agencies, with just a few vehicles – Clever Devices’ customers come in all sizes. Bus, Rail, or Paratransit, our cutting-edge solutions are designed for all modes of transportation. As new opportunities to streamline transit operations evolve, we continue to improve our solutions through new products and advanced feature sets. This creates a need for frequent upgrades of the delivered solution. With well over 100 customers and more than 1000 virtual servers, this is a formidable task. Another challenge is that our customers consider our solutions “Mission-Critical” and require these updates to happen at times that will minimize the impact on operations. This generally means between 1:00 am – 4:00 am in their local time zone. With customers across 11 time zones, this requires a 24x7 operation.
At first, we managed the upgrade efforts by utilizing the staff we had in our New York and Raleigh NC offices. This required employees to work overnight shifts as well as their daytime hours. It did not take long for us to realize this method would not support the growth we were achieving. We needed to increase staff and adopt a “follow-the-sun” approach. We needed something which would provide us a 24x7 staff across multiple time zones.
This is when we turned to Braves Technologies. We approached their leadership with the idea of utilizing their services to fill our second and third shifts. We spoke about the geographic areas that we wanted to cover as well as the skill sets required. They took the time to listen and understand my challenges.
Throughout my career, I have worked with many consulting companies but none of them recognized my needs as well as Braves.
